This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Cockatoos collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users of website. The protection of your privacy being very important, we have adopted the following practices to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal information. We will notify all registered users via email of any change to this Privacy Policy.
Information that we may automatically collect from you is not personally identifiable and may include your IP address, browser type, and browser settings. None of this information discloses any of your personal information. We use your IP address (the series of numbers associated with your individual computer) to help us maintain our site and identify problems with our server. Your IP address does not disclose any personally revealing information about you. Information that we may obtain regarding your browser and browser settings is to ensure that our site’s technical features are available to you. The specific information we collect is not rented, sold, or shared with any third party without your explicit consent and is only ever disclosed in situations where required by law.

When you register to use Cockatoos service you will be asked for some general identifying information which is used to create your membership account and provide you with an individualized service. We gather contact information (eg alternate email address) and demographic information (eg zip/postal code, city of residence, date of birth). Cockatoos will not share, sell, rent, or give away your private information to anyone.
When completing your profile you will be asked for some personal but non-identifying information (i.e. whether you have children, height, body type, race, religion, whether you smoke, etc). This information is not linked in any way to your personally identifiable information, for other members to see. Obviously, if you provide us with a photograph some of your information may become personally identifiable information.
Your non-personally identifying demographic information is used to personalize your experience, allow other members to find you through a search and compose your personal profile. Other than your Cockatoos email address, your contact information is never available to other members or organizations.
Your alternate email address is only collected in case you forget your password. This is the only instance that Cockatoos will send email to that address.
The location information we collect from you is used to enable our powerful geographical search functionality.
If you choose to have them sent to you, your zip/postal code is used to determine you location for local EafletTM distribution. An EafletTM is an opt-in service provided by EQUAT in which you can receive different types of communications from businesses and marketers. Messages contained in an Eaflet™ are highly specific to one of thousands of interest categories and you decide if you want to receive Eaflets™ and for which interest categories. All Eaflets™ originate from EQUAT and at all times you remain anonymous. Advertisers send Eaflets™ to a specific interest category; they do not have your Cockatoos or alternate email addresses.
The specific information we collect is not shared with other organizations and we will never release your personally identifiable information to an external organization without your prior consent except for the situation in which we reasonably believe we are required to do so by operation of law.
You can access your information and preference profile at anytime to correct or update information you have submitted to Cockatoos. You may also contact us by clicking on “Contact us” and sending us a message if you require assistance.
Cockatoos members communicate with each other through instant messages and email. While we do not, as a rule, moderate or monitor members' private exchanges, we reserve the right to do so if we suspect users of being under 18 or of using our service for the purpose of solicitation or any other violation of our terms of use or Privacy Statement. Member submissions that appear on the public area of the site are moderated and, if necessary, we reserve the right to edit, delete, remove or not use any communication on a public area of the site.
Cockatoos may have links to other websites on our site or contained within an Eaflet. Although we are careful to link to sites that we determine practice good privacy policies, our site does not guarantee the privacy policies of these links.
